What data we collect

Newsletter subscribers

Voluntarily provided data

If you sign up for our newsletter, we collect:

  • Full name
  • Email address

This information is used solely to send you our newsletter and trial alerts. It is not shared with third parties, sold, or used for any purpose other than direct communication with you.

All website visitors

Behavioural and analytics data

We automatically collect anonymised behavioural data when you use our website. This data does not identify you personally and includes:

  • Filter paths used when searching for trials (e.g. location, gender, payment filters applied)
  • Time spent on the website and on specific pages
  • Which trial links you click through to
  • Scroll patterns and general navigation behaviour
  • Newsletter engagement (open rates, link clicks)

We do not collect or store any directly identifying information such as your name, IP address, or precise location as part of our analytics. All behavioural data is anonymised before processing.

Anonymised behavioural data

Used to understand how visitors use TrialTrack and to improve the platform. Our legal basis is our legitimate interests in developing and improving our service (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

Data sharing and third parties

  • Newsletter data is never sold or shared with any third party.
  • Anonymised behavioural data may be shared with or sold to third parties for commercial purposes. No information that could identify you will ever be included in such transfers.
  • We use third-party tools (such as email delivery services) to operate our newsletter. These processors only handle your data on our instruction and are bound by data processing agreements.
  • We do not share any data with the clinics or study sponsors listed on our platform.

Data retention

We retain your name and email address for as long as you remain subscribed to our newsletter. If you unsubscribe or request deletion, your data will be removed within 30 days.

Anonymised behavioural data does not have a fixed retention period as it cannot be linked back to any individual.
